Romania has a seaside, indeed

Yes, actually, Romania is one of the luckiest countries in Europe that hosts mountains, beaches, rivers, lakes, whatever you need 4 seasons available. They can not promote it enough, that`s another story..So for this summer, I had enough of Romanian seaside and believe me it`s not that bad.

I am saying this, cause many people don`t even consider Romania as a `seaside resort`. But for a decent seaside weekend, Romania offers more than you expect.

First, let me start with the cons. The service generally sucks, but it`s quite general in Romania, so if you are a bit used to the standard service here, it doesn`t bother much. Which I couldn`t :) The `customer` idea is too far away still. About the sea itself, don`t expect a pure blue, full sand, cleanest sea. On July and August, and if there are no algea, you can enjoy the sea, though.

Also do not expect a 5 star hotel experience. Most of the hotels are built in those communist times and in 20 years, they just established a reception area and put a 37 screen TV in the rooms. That`s it. Hotels do not reserve private beaches, you just find a place and stay there. All public.

So, yes, these can be reasons why Romanian seaside do not attract foreigners. Romania serves for Romania, and they are ok about this. Because, from Bucharest for example, you can reach to the seaside in 3 hours, find a reasonable priced hotel, hostel or just put your tent somewhere on the beach.

Besides, people really don`t swim that much. I was even surprised how many people do not even know how to swim. Seaside is for fun, for drinking, for smoking, for shooting photos. Yes, this takes attention, really, in each corner, you can find a girl posing for a 4 mp cellphone camera :) It`s funny to see those poses in almost all fb profiles after summer. Doesn`t matter which town you are in (namely, Mamaia, Vama Veche, 2 Mai, Neptun, Saturn, Eforie Nord, Costinesti, etc..) party starts on the beach and continues in the clubs until next morning..

If you are passing throught Romania during summer, I advice you to spend at least one weekend in the seaside to have a different seaside experience. It will worth.
